Site Adoption

Creating a Library of Site Insights through DCTs:

Problem Statement

Despite growing use/need of decentralized clinical trial (DCT) elements, the site perspective is often underrepresented in the planning and design phases of clinical trials. This lack of early, consistent site voice leads to operational inefficiencies, missed opportunities to streamline workflows, and challenges in implementation.

Reaching out to multiple sites during every study design phase is time-consuming and burdensome—for both sponsors and sites—making it difficult to gather broad, actionable insights.
Without a clear understanding of how DCT components impact site workflows, SOPs, and overall burden, sponsors risk poor adoption, reduced protocol compliance, and increased site frustration.

This workstream aims to address these gaps by centralizing and synthesizing site feedback on DCTs to inform better trial design, reduce burden, and drive more effective implementation across the industry.

Creating a Library of Site Insights through DCTs:

Project Objectives

This workstream is developing a dynamic, centralized repository of site insights on the use, implementation and adoption of DCT elements.
The goal is to create a living resource that can be continuously updated and easily queried in real time, allowing sponsors to access relevant, actionable site feedback without repeatedly burdening sites during every study design phase.
By leveraging this repository, teams can address common challenges and identify best practices upfront—reserving site outreach for only those questions that are truly specific to the study or patient population. This approach reduces time and operational burden for both sponsors and sites, while improving the quality and feasibility of DCT implementation in clinical trials.
